Good Thing!

Grandma is so excited about this picnic. She called last night to see if my company was here yet. She had all of her potato's and eggs boiled, and she needed to go and get the rest of the stuff for her salad. At least she remembered she was suppose to make potao salad. That's good. I called her after Ryan and family arrived just so she would be able to relax.

Thank you!

I just needed to say thank you again to uncle Doyle for calling his locksmith friend Sunday when my husband lost his keys...oh somewhere...IN THE EDWARDS JONES DOME! Needless to say I asked how many times he had been around the building looking for them...I don't care how big it is! :) Keep Looking!

The Birk's

I thought I would just say hi and give an update as to the workings of the Birk household...

I am still loving my new job. This week I am in the operating room doing c-sections. It's pretty interesting to see what I have been through twice already...almost makes me not want to do it again! They actually take your whole uterus out and check for bleeding...it looks kind of like a turkey, weird!

Shelby and Audrey love school and I love their teachers. It makes me sad now to think that we are trying to move because they are both doing so well...we just really need a bigger house! They have started back to dance and are taking about 3 classes each. Makes for a pretty hectic week for Jamie and I but it's also a great socialization time for us.

Jamie is having to change his schedule right now to accomodate my new job, and unfortunately might have to make the change permanent. We've thought of every alternative and just can't get around it. He's such a good sport I am afraid one day he might explode from all the crap he's had to take! :)

Well, I am off to get ready for my garage sale. I need to get this in before fall hits!

Finally Home!

Ryan is finally home in IN. with his family. Today he and Philip went fishing with pappaw Tim. He is happy to just be resting and watching TV with his kids and Cheri. He will need to report to Fort Hood Texas Oct. 4th, so they will more than likely pull out of IN on the week-end of Sept. 26-68. I do plan on having a picnic for them. He and his Daddy prefer that it be here in Ryan's home town. My plans are for September 20th. in Jackson City park. I will provide all of the meat, bread, drinks, condiments, paper ware and baked beans. If my family would be so kind as to furnish side dishes, I would greatly appreciate it. We would love to see everybody be able to come. It would mean so much to Ryan and to us. This way we do not need to get Mom and Dad to St. Louis.

Today they went to the Arbor Day homecoming. I called around 3:30 to make sure they were back. They had a good time, good food, and visited with lots of people.

Philip took a spelling test on Friday and made a 100%. Wow, I almost hate for him to have to leave IN. and the teacher he has.

Please respond to our invitation.

Everything is on the move!

After much effort and lots of Fleets, Daddy's bowels are on the move. He called me yesterday to tell me he was heading to the hospital. I ask him why and he told me he can't poop (he didn't use those words). I called his nurse and she called him and told him to sit tight (no pun intended). She called me and sent to Wal Mart with a list of thinks sure to get things moving. After several hours and to many stories about KY Jelly, he decided to go to bed and tttrrryyy to sleep ( "but it's hard to sleep when your butt is burning"). This morning there was still no action. I returned to Daddy's for another dose of fleets, ex-lax, and yes KY Jelly, things finally moved later in the morning. When I called to talk to him this afternoon, he said he "filled the toilet". I know now why Gail is a nurse and I am a pre-school teacher.

How did you all spend your Labor Day!
